2021 SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED TOTALING $337,500.00

In May the Foundation awarded $338,500 in scholarships to area college students. Of the 195 students receiving awards, 124 were students who reapplied and had maintained a GPA of 2.5 and higher. The foundation awarded 71 new scholarships, 1 scholarship awarded had a Hughes Home connection. The range of awards were from $1000.00 for those of less financial need, $3,000.00 for those students with the most financial need. Hughes Foundation covers 9 counties in Virginia and 4 in North Carolina. We have received applicants from all areas of service. Since the first scholarship awards were made in November of 2001, Hughes has awarded 1,520 scholarships totaling $3,216,720.23.
